Bogdan Dreyer was born on April, 2, 1962 in Transylvania. He emigrated with his parents in Germany, where he graduated in 1983. One month later Bogdan Dreyer moved to Italy where he studied Art and Italian culture at the Dante Alighieri Institute in Florence. He then decided to become a movie maker, and settled in Rome. There he studied at the ‘Libera Universita` del Cinema di Roma’ where he graduated in 1987 as film director and screen author. His diploma movie is “Storie di Miracoli”, based on a novel by Italian author Barbara Alberti: a 30 min film, screened at the Venice International Film Festival in 1988.
Bogdan’s influential teachers were: Leonviola (“The Appointment”), Sofia Scandurra (“Io Sono Mia”), Cesare Zavattini (“Bicycles Thieves”, “A Walk in the Clouds”), Leo Benvenuti (“Once upon in America”) and other famous Italian movie makers, like Alberto Lattuada (“Columbus”), Aldo Tonti (“Nights of Cabiria”, “Barabbas”), Turi Vasile (“Fellini’s Rome”)
